After re-instating my Synology diskstation I decided that I could use it for backing up my Macbook using Time Machine.
Time Machine is the Apple mechanism for backup your machine and you can easily restore files again which you deleted or changed.
It is a simple but powerful tool. After a few hours, I noticed that it was sort of throttling in bandwidth, thus take an enormous time to complete the backup.
After a good search, I found a terminal command to speed up the process. It almost doubles the bandwidth.
You can enable it via using the command:
sudo sysctl debug.lowpri_throttle_enabled=0
and disable or back to the standard it again by using the command:
sudo sysctl debug.lowpri_throttle_enabled=1
So, simply open a terminal program, enter the command (and your password after that) and the system will backup much much faster to the Time Machine.
